Animal Rights

Human history is full of animals instances. Domesticated and undomesticated animals has intervened in many human matters, for example, the egyptians thought that cats were sacred animals, close to the gods. In other times, animals have been the food reserve of civilizations.
For me, modern times make things better for some kind of animals, the pet animals. I guess people find the way of use animals like the replacement of their loved ones, maybe it ‘s questionable, but at least is good for the animals. I used to have a bird, when I was little, but I release her because when I looked at her in the cage, I suffered.
Pets that I always have had are dogs, I just love dogs, they’re so lovely and cute, they love you despite anything. Now I have a guinea pig, and he is friend of my dog, I mean, maybe not friends but my little dog doesn`t attacks my guinea pig, and I’m happy with it.
Chinchillas are a endangered species in Chile, and I always wanted have one, but I didn’t buy one, because I knew they are in danger, so I thought was unbelievable that chinchillas still are for rent.
Science and technology always suprise us with some animals experiments. They guarantee us that if we pull in all bees of the world and draw them all their products, we will live forever, and people believe it. I always think: “ I don’t want to live forever, and people have lived in minimal conditions, why now we need so many things to what? I’d like animals were free.
I always have thought that I’d love to be an eagle. They’re so fast and free, maybe any kind of birds would be fine, but eagle are fast and beautiful too.
We should respect animals, just because now we have the power to destroy something, doesn`t mean you have to do it. I’m sure if animals could speak, they would say a lot of bad truths about humans.

Being green

I would say that my experiences with plants, and nature were mediated by my grandmother, my aunts and my dad, whose were always talking and doing things about nature. They all lived on a plot, where played and learned from the nature; I’m strongly agree with the preposition that says tradition determines several generations (I think I'm a case of that determinism).

This subject it really concern to me, lately I find out that we are in a crucial moment for the environment. In fact, I’ve seen documentary saying about the already irreversibility of the effects over the environment, and if we want to have any possibilities to save a future world, we would have to make some radical decisions about our way of living.

Because of my state of emergency, that a few months ago, I took a choice: I became vegetarian. People think about vegetarianism only as a way of being sympathetic with animals, but it isn’t, because the only fact of stop eating cows decreases the energy that we use to feed a person. Do you know how much energy is necessary to feed a cow? Do you that with soya that industry feed cows of all world we could feed half of africa? This information is hiding from people because of vested interests. What People have to do to know about helping the environment, is talk by internet, or communities, there’s real information, not in television.

I’ve been realize that maybe an effective way to help the world, is thinking about what you consume. For example, you could stop of buying bottled water, or even better, stop buying plastic things at all. Because the recycle idea has been proved that is not the solution.

Another measure that I took was eating food with the least amount of refinement: is a way to teach the system what they should be producing for the people, and for the environment.

I would buy a car, I think it’s the silliest thing that you could do, there’s many option, maybe public transport it’s not the solution, but it’s better that use one car only for you. I can’t use a bike because university is really far away from my house, but I’ll try to do it later, choosing a job near from my house.

Music and thoughts

I always feel excited about new groups, styles, singers, songs. It’s just striking think about all the sounds that have been explosively created in the last decades. The reason of this first difference with old times music, is because music has turn so popular, on old age music was so aristocratic and just people rich could learn music and play. So, music it’s one of the great things on my life because now is unlimited.
People always ask me about what kind of music I like, but I can’t answer because I love a lot of styles. For example, a love the rock of 90’s, as a love Bach and Suede. You see? It’s impossible for me talk about preference related to the style or time. What I could say is the music that I do hate . Reggaeton must be just a mistake in the course of music history. That’s not music, it’s just people talking (not singing) about sex and stupid things.
Everyone have been in a concert, but the one wich I got crazy about, was Roger waters concert. He is a legend, and nobody thinks that is gonna see a legend like him.
The first time a learned a song was listening “Vivo por ella” by Bocelli. I was too little, like 6 years old, and I love that pop album that he wrote for people who didnt`t listen opera music (wich is the music that we really write and sing).
Maybe one of my big fustrations is music, because I love listen to music, but I just cant`t play it, I have no skills. I tried to play guittar or drum when I was on school, but I just couldnt`t prosper. And singing, that’s every more sad that the first story.
People should listen music all the time, it’s like a free therapy, and you can’t connect with culture and people behind a so amazing creation. So Guys, be ready to fall in love of any song!

Shame: Sex addicts

How come sex becomes an addiction? Shame (a film about the subject) tells about all the impact that sex addiction has on people's life. After look this kind of films, always comes the feeling of my own craziness and fears. Maybe that's the reason because I'm studying psychology, maybe that's the reason for all psychologist.

However, in psychology approches, there's many prospects about this illness (sex addiction), in fact, Freudian theory (wich has been the framework of many developments on psychology) would think sex addictions like one more expression of the becoming of infantile sexuality, an hiperinvesment of libido on objects directly physicial and sexual, because on theory, there's any kind of invesment over any objects.

On the film, and almost any modern approches, thinks the problem of sex addiction as a particular illness, constructed by experience congnitive, just simple learning.

I rather think that we're not so far from this kind of problems, it's a way of avoid bias, and treat them more sympathetically. Also, we never know when something cans go down on us.

Euthansia

On modern society, we witness every kind of new ideas and ways of living, and both try to be legitimate and be recognize by the world. Euthanasia is one of this new ideas, and as I said, is trying to be legal on anywhere.
It have been many cases of pro-euthanasia fighting, but one of the most courage one, was the led by Jack Kervorkian, in the 90s. He was a retired pathologist from Michigan, and he introduced the concept of assisted suicide, wich means help to someone with a terminal disease and suffering, to die. Kevorkian said many times that he was a a great doctor, and that he was giving a service to those whose asked him for it. In the 90s, he ended the lives of approximately one hundred thirty people. He was prosecuted and convicted on Thomas Youk`s case, by second-degree murder. What really happened was that He shows by TV the assisted suicide of Thomas Youk, and that angered to the goverrment. Many times we have seen goverment supporting conservatives groups: Goverment should be supporting the majority, and I`m sure majority approve assisted suicide.
In my case, I`m agnostic, so, I don`t have real problems about euthanasia or any kind of this matters. Instead, I defend freewill, I think people should be able to choose their destiny in any case and context. In fact, terminal disease or physical pain should not be what determines if a doctor can helps or not to someone to die painlessly.

Travelling

Travel themes have been talk in different times and cultures, because it is something with a deep psichological meaning. You just have to think that all your childhood, the first experiences, has been thought in a stable and continuos place, and the travel means get lost your safety.

Anyway, travel can be an amused and enjoyable experiences too, and that's what I'm going to talk now.

Have you ever thoght about your favorite place to go? Or your favorite lanscape? Well, I have. Just think about it, all your life you've seen every kind of things, places, animals, buildings, people, whose aren't in your country, it's so obvious that you will want to see all this things. Me, for example, I would like to meet Japan, I don't know, their culture amuse me in so many ways. Manga, anime, films, tradition, food, everything is so different there, I've always been excited to go.

I born in Venezuela, but when I was 2 years old, I traveled to Chile, and I've never returned, so, I don't remember anything, then when people ask me, if I'm afraid of planes, or wich is the farthest country I've ever been, I say, I don't know and I don't remember.

So, if I dismiss my Venezuela episode, I've not been in other country, and the farthest place I know from Chile, is Caldera, wich is in the north. It's beautiful there, on tv shows one of its beachs, “playa blanca”, the name it's because of the color of the sand.

Another city that I would like to visited, is San Francisco. I've heard so many from there, like it is a progressive on politics and ways of living. It is an excellent option too.

Cinema

When people think about mass medias, maybe the most illustrative of them it's cinema. I think the reason it is related to diversity on film industry. Imagine you are six years old, would you like to read news? Or enough comfortable surfing on internet? Of course not, because that mass medias are made to adults, and children are excluded of it. So, what's left is cinema, because there is films for children. In fact, who wasn't influenced by the lion king or “la bella y la bestia”?

Nowadays, people watch films all the time, because the industry it's more big than ever. Cinema it's until today an attractive way to watch films because of the cuality of the screen, and popcorns and I guess that many other reasons like the eventuality related to family or weekend. Personal, I'm not a fun of cinema, because it's so spensive and commercial films don't amused me so much. Instead, I Like watch films on internet, because I can really choose what I'm gonna see. Another advantage, it's free.

I've seen chilean films, and some are good, but none of them hit me on real. I also said that I'm nor a fun of commercial movies, but there always exceptions, and Happiness is one of it. It's not exactly commercial, but there's famous actors on it, like Phillip Seymour Hoffman, who and extraordinary american actor. It's directed by Todd Solondz, who made only independent films, that's why this films it' not so fancy or commercial. I really recommend this film, It's the best introduction to under and dissident cinema.

What I really hate about films, it' s how stupid could be sometimes. The reason it's how commercial has become this industry. There's films about the most superficial topics, like boys and girls who wants drink by first time, that's so typical of american films.

Everyone have thought their lifes like a story, and that's the cell of a film, and if I would choose when kind of film to show my life, it would be like an independent film, because of the caracter that use to express, wich always criticize the modern society.
